Parents Help Determine Temperament
Okay, we have already mentioned that when you are buying a dog that is from a breeder you will typically get a better temperament. However, what you do not realize is the majority of the time this temperament is going to be determine by the parents who are on the property. When you are able to do this, you will generally be able to get the judgement on your own of how the parents are behaving. If you go to the breeders house to see the puppies and the parents are growling at the porch at you, then they are either super protective or they have some issues with their temperament, which can carry over to the puppies at times.
Size Of The Parents
Okay, any breeder can tell you anything you want to know about the size of the parents. However, if you are getting a larger dog like an English Mastiff and you want them to be big for protection the breeder may tell you the parents are larger than what they actually are. By getting to see the parents, though, you are going to know exactly how large the parents are and will know if you should expect to see your puppy that is super small get that big or not.
